Green Tree Bronze Award - April 2015

We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the Bronze standard of the Green Tree Award Scheme. This award is recognition of our work over the past few years and we now set our sights on achieving the Silver Award.

The Woodland Trust works with schools across the UK,
encouraging outdoor learning and helping teachers inspire their
pupils about woods, trees and wildlife. Schools gain points by completing environmental activities and progressing through bronze, silver and gold levels to the
prestigious platinum award.

We are also reducing our school's CO2

emissions and energy consumption, by:

  • Participating in Walk to School Week.
  • Reducing energy consumption, for example:
  • Switching off lights
  • Switching to energy-saving lightbulbs
  • Closing doors
  • Turning off radiators instead of opening windows
  • Not leaving computers and TVs on standby
  • Closing blinds and curtains at night to keep heat in.
