At Churchill we have an active School Council with a girl and a boy representing their fellow pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. At the start of each calendar year all the children have a chance to vote for two of their class members to join the School Council.
Members of the Council take part in discussions and votes and feedback any relevant information to their classes. They are sometimes requested to ask their class for ideas or take class votes on special projects. They also exchange ideas about how the school could be improved.
The School Council are also our E-Safety committee, and play an important role in planning and developing internet safety education for everyone in Churchill Primary school.
This year, the School Council are working on a project to improve the school playground and outside learning environments.
They have surveyed the children in the school about their views and ideas and the results from the survey are shown below.
