Home Learning Week 2

(Week beginning 30th March)

Hi there from Miss Pike, Mrs Hardwick and Mrs Holdaway!

We hope you are all ok and looking after yourselves.

We miss you very much but know that you are trying really hard to make the most of this different way of living and learning.

We would REALLY love to see what you've been up to at home, so please ask your grown up to email the office with examples of your learning. We can post examples of your work on this page so you can also see what your friends have been up to!

(please also read Mrs Woollven's letter about work expectations)

Spellings for the week:

sound /zh/ spelt 's'

television, treasure, usual, division, pleasure, measure, occasion, usually, leisure, vision

or key words:

make, made, want, more, over, new

It's Shape Week!

We've planned some 2D and 3D shape activities for this week. The children who were at school on the last Friday have already completed some of these, but there are lots more on the Home Learning sheet.

Please also feel free to be as creative as you can with any other activities that you'd like to do related to shape :)

Main teaching points:

  • be able to name common 2D and 3D shapes
  • Describe the properties of 2D and 3D shapes using language of: 2D - sides, vertices/corners, straight, curved, lines of symmetry and 3D - faces, edges, vertices
  • Use properties of shapes to sort them in different ways
  • Make repeating patterns using shapes

Keep up the Times Tables Rock Stars - there's a battle currently between Year 2 and Year 5 and it's soooooooooo close at the moment!
