Newsletter 1

It was lovely to see so many happy faces coming into school last week. The first few days back are always quite special as we all embrace that golden opportunity to be the very best version of ourselves. Establishing high expectations for behaviour, punctuality, uniform and approach to learning, is the key task for the next few weeks. All of the classes are working on their learning charters and these will be shared with families during the meet the teacher meetings (a reminder of dates and times is included below).
Attendance and punctuality are key priorities for our school this year as our overall attendance for 2024-2025 was below National averages and notably below averages for similar schools, in Lighthouse Schools Partnership. Attendance was the only outcome measure where we compared poorly. In all other areas our outcomes were really strong; often above National and LSP averages. To read more about our outcomes, please click on this link.
We need your help and support to address our attendance concern. As a school we have targeted our highly valued Learning Mentor time to ensure Mrs Ford is available to support any families experiencing difficulty getting their child into school. There is further key information on start and finish times, as well as our attendance policy, below.
I have included lots of dates that I hope will be of help in planning your year ahead. You can always access a copy of the newsletter from the school website.
Wishing you all a fantastic 200th anniversary year.
