Writing

Writing is a big journey for the class with many steps before they become fluent writers. Writing is also linked heavily to phonics - please look at the link for phonics for more resources to support at home.

Each term, we will add some resources that reflect our current teaching in class.

Fine motor skills that build muscles used for handwriting are vital to later handwriting success. Ideas that you are able to do at home include:

- playdoh

- cutting and sticking

- playing with pegs

- sticker play

-threading

- colouring

- using tweezers or tongs

- chalking

-painting

-crafting

Holding a pencil is also very important. Please find below tips and the progression of pencil grip.
