Welcome to Year 1

Welcome 2023 - 2024

 

It has been wonderful to welcome all the children back after the holidays. We've had a really busy start to the term and hope that your child was full of excitement and smiles telling you all the news about the new Year 1 classroom and exciting learning that lies ahead.

 

In Year 1, we will have PE on a Tuesday, so please ensure that your child has a full PE kit in school so that they can take part.

 

Homework will be set on a Friday and due in the following Tuesday. If you have any queries about your child's homework, please let us know. Spellings will be sent home on a Friday and will be tested the following Friday.

 

We do expect the children to read at home at least 5 times a week. Reading books will be changed on a Tuesday and Friday, but only when an adult from home has commented and signed the yellow reading record book.
