Welcome to Year 5

Year 5 Team:

It has been a pleasure welcoming you all back after the holidays. It has already been an action-packed start as we have started our new units (you can see our Curriculum Web below) and are starting to get our class routines in place.

Reminders:

Camp meeting for parents: Wednesday 20th September in Class 5 @ 3.30pm.

T@3: Friday 10th November @ 2.30pm in the school hall.

In Year 5, we will have PE twice a week (Monday and Friday). Please ensure that your child has a full PE kit in school everyday.

Homework will be set on a Tuesday and due in the following Tuesday.

* Maths - Please make sure that you are using TTRockStars each week. In Year 5, a solid understanding of these facts will really help them along with their maths work in class.

* Spellings - Please complete the Look/Cover/Write/Check sheet and learn your spellings by using EdShed. Please return the sheet every Tuesday before the spelling test takes place that morning.

* Reading - We do expect the children to read at home at least 5 times a week. Reading books can be changed daily, but only when an adult from home has commented and signed the yellow reading record book. Inside are some question prompts that you may wish you use to check your child's understanding of what they have read. At the back of the yellow books are the login details for TTRS and EdShed.
