At Churchill we have an active School Council with a girl and a boy representing their fellow pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. YR representatives join at the start of Term 3. At the start of each calendar year all the children have a chance to vote for two of their class members to join the School Council.
Members of the Council take part in discussions and votes and feedback any relevant information to their classes. They are sometimes requested to ask their class for ideas or take class votes on special projects. They also exchange ideas about how the school could be improved.
The School Council are also are also our E-Safety committee and Healthy School committee. They play an important role in planning and developing internet safety education for our school community and help shape the school's healthy lifestyle ambition. This year, they are also investigating how we can make the school more eco-friendly.
