Fifth and final 500 Reading Points Achieved
On Monday 5th July, Year 2 achieved their fifth 500 points for reading regularly at home.
The children have voted for their final treat of Year 2............a disco.
Super reading everyone. Well done!
The children showed incredible amounts of resilience when making these 3d houses for our Langford model. I was so proud of them.
(Ask them what physical and human features they can see!)
We thought about the different parts of our bodies this week in PSHE. First we considered the similarities and differences between boys and girls. Then we learned the technical names for what the children call their 'private' parts. Finally we put clothes on the 'bodies' which demonstrated perfectly how these areas of the body are kept private. We then re-looked at the PANTS poster (below) which is on display in the classroom as well as the toilet areas.
Creating our own maths games
We worked hard to use the maths equipment to create our own games where we then had to use our mental arithmetic skills to calculate our score.
Geography
In Geography this week we used Google Earth to find where Australia is and looked at what the weather is like in different parts of Australia. We also compared the weather to where we live.
Then we became weather presenters and made our own tv weather slot for Australia. Enjoy!
We are continuing with our learning about ..........
Fractions
This is our last Year 2 half term check in and of course we are making the most of the lovely weather.
